Cyndi Lauper (geboren Cynthia Ann Stephanie Lauper am 22. Juni 1953) ist eine amerikanische Sängerin, Songwriterin und Schauspielerin. Als Ikone der Popmusik der 1980er Jahre erlangte Lauper internationale Bekanntheit mit ihrem Debütalbum *She's So Unusual* (1983), das die Hits "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", "Time After Time" und "Money Changes Everything" enthält. Ihre Musik zeichnet sich durch eine Mischung aus Pop, Rock, New Wave und theatralischen Elementen aus. Lauper ist für ihren exzentrischen Stil und ihre charismatische Persönlichkeit bekannt. Neben der Musik hat sie in Filmen und Musicals mitgespielt und 1985 einen Grammy Award für das Lied "Time After Time" sowie 2014 einen Tony Award für die Musikalbum-Soundtrack von *Kinky Boots* erhalten.
