Baccara ist ein weibliches Gesangsduo, das 1977 von den spanischen Künstlerinnen Mayte Mateos (geboren am 7. Februar 1951 in Logroño) und Maria Mendiola (geboren am 4. April 1952 in Madrid) gegründet wurde. Das Duo erreichte schnell internationalen Erfolg mit ihrem Debütsingle "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie", die in weiten Teilen Europas an die Spitze der Charts stieg. Ein erfolgreicher Follow-up-Single ("Sorry, I'm A Lady") und eine Europatour führten zur Veröffentlichung mehrerer Alben, zahlreichen Fernsehauftritten und zur Auswahl des Duos für den Eurovision Song Contest 1978 als Vertreter Luxemburgs.
