Edie Brickell and The New Bohemians sono un gruppo folk rock statunitense formatosi a Dallas, Texas, a metà degli anni ottanta. La formazione originale comprendeva Edie Brickell (voce, chitarra), Kenny Withrow (chitarra), John Bush (basso) e Matt Johnson (batteria). Il loro sound, caratterizzato da una combinazione di melodie folk orecchiabili e un'energia rock accessibile, li ha portati a essere spesso paragonati ai R.E.M., altra band college rock dell'epoca proveniente dal sud degli Stati Uniti. Il successo internazionale arrivò nel 1988 con il singolo "What I Am", tratto dall'album di debutto "Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars".
