Grade war eine kanadische Hardcore-Band, die von Ende der 1990er bis Anfang der 2000er Jahre aktiv war. Ihr Debüt erschien 1994 mit dem Split-Album "Grade/Believe", das vom kanadischen Label Workshop Records veröffentlicht wurde. 1997 folgten "And Such Is Progress" und 1998 "Separate the Magnets", die kritische Anerkennung erhielten und ihnen Tourneen mit Bands wie Jimmy Eat World, Hot Water Music und Fugazi ermöglichten. 1999 unterschrieben sie bei Victory Records und veröffentlichten die EP "Triumph and Tragedy" sowie das Studioalbum "Under the Radar". 2000 erschien "The Embarrassing Beginning", eine Sammlung früherer Tracks und Raritäten. 2001 verließ der ursprüngliche Gitarrist Greg Taylor die Band, um sich Jersey voll zu widmen, und wurde durch Brad Casarin ersetzt. Chris Danner verließ daraufhin die Band, während Charlie Moniz für die Veröffentlichung des Albums "Headfirst Straight to Hell" beitrat.
