I have never, oh no never, been ignored
English duo Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe are the hugely successful synthpop act Pet Shop Boys. Although they have enjoyed little success in America since the mid-80s, their popularity in the UK and Europe has resulted in sales of over 50 million records. They have had 22 Top 10 hits in the UK, including four chart-toppers: “West End Girls” (1985, also topped the US Hot 100) “It’s a Sin” (1987) “Always on my Mind” (1987) and “Heart” (1988). Although it’s been a while since they’ve topped the charts, the Pet Shop Boys continue to tour the world, and still retain a chart presence. Their studio album, Fundamental (2006) was a No.5 in the UK, and included another Top 10 single, “I’m With Stupid”. The release Yes is due out in April 2009.
