Patrice Rushen (nata Patrice Louise Rushen) è una pianista, cantante e compositrice statunitense nata a Los Angeles nel 1954. È conosciuta per il suo stile fusion di jazz, funk e soul, caratterizzato da un'eccezionale abilità tecnica al pianoforte e una voce calda e melodiosa. Iniziò la sua carriera musicale all'età di sette anni, esibendosi in locali di Los Angeles e collaborando con artisti come Ray Charles e The Pointer Sisters. Nel 1978 pubblicò il suo album di debutto "Straight From the Heart", seguito da successi come "Forget Me Nots" (1982) e "Pizzazz" (1983). Rushen è stata membro del gruppo jazz CAB, con cui ha registrato l'album "The First Time Around" nel 1976.
