Pegazus sono una heavy metal band originaria di Melbourne, Australia. La band è stata formata alla fine del 1993 dal chitarrista Johnny Stoj e nel 1998 ha attirato l'attenzione internazionale dopo essere stati ingaggiati dalla Nuclear Blast Records. Il secondo album della band, *Wings of Destiny*, è stato pubblicato il 25 maggio 1998 e ha riscosso un grande successo, portando la band a diventare rapidamente un favorito dei fan del heavy metal europeo. Nello stesso anno, la band è stata invitata a suonare al Wacken Open Air Festival in Germania, uno dei festival metal più importanti d'Europa, davanti a un pubblico di oltre 25.000 persone.
