Axwell ist ein schwedischer DJ und Produzent von House-Musik, bekannt für seine Dance-Hits der 1990er und 2000er Jahre. Geboren als Axel Christofer Hedfors 1977 in Stockholm, begann er seine musikalische Karriere Anfang der 1990er Jahre mit dem Produzieren von Remixen und der Zusammenarbeit mit anderen schwedischen Künstlern. 1999 veröffentlichte er sein erstes Studioalbum "Axwell", das in Europa moderate Erfolge erzielte. Im Jahr 2001 gründete er zusammen mit Steve Angello und Sebastian Ingrosso die progressive House-Gruppe Swedish House Mafia, die weltweite Bekanntheit durch Hits wie "One (Your Name)" und "Save the World" erlangte.
