Skinlab è una band di groove metal formatasi nel 1994 a San Francisco, California. I membri fondatori erano il vocalist/bassista Steev Esquivel (ex cantante della band thrash locale Defiance), il chitarrista Mike Roberts (ora con RAZE the STRAY), il chitarrista Gary Wendt (ex membro della band thrash Sacrilege B.C. e attuale frontman del gruppo alt/metal The Ghost Next Door) e il batterista Paul Hopkins. La formazione è cambiata nel corso degli anni. Skinlab ha pubblicato tre album in studio e un EP prima di sciogliersi nel 2003 a seguito della partenza di due membri chiave. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano 'Bound by Blood', 'The Devil's Playground' e 'Forever'.
