Raunchy ist eine dänische Thrash-Metal-Band, die 1992 in Aarhus von Jesper Tilsted, Jesper Kvist und Morten Toft Hansen gegründet wurde. Anfangs spielten sie Metallica- und Slayer-Coverversionen. 1994 stießen Lars Vognstrup und Lars Christensen zum Band hinzu. 1995 nahmen sie ihre erste Demoaufnahme in den Borsing Studios in Aarhus auf, wobei der Song "Space Story" auf der Compilation Extremity Rising vol. 1 veröffentlicht wurde. Nach zwei weiteren Demos (mit weiteren Tracks auf Extremity Rising) unterschrieb Raunchy 2000 einen Vertrag bei Drug(s), einem Sublabel von Mighty Music. 2001 veröffentlichten sie ihr Debütalbum "Velvet Noise", produziert von Jacob Hansen, das in Skandinavien sehr gut aufgenommen wurde.
