Dave Wakeling (geboren als David Wakeling am 19. Februar 1956 in Birmingham, England) ist ein englischer Sänger-Songwriter und Gitarrist, der vor allem für seine Gesangsstimme und Songtexte bei der Ska-Band der 1980er Jahre The Beat (in den Vereinigten Staaten bekannt als The English Beat) und später bei General Public bekannt wurde. Wakeling begann seine musikalische Karriere in den frühen 1970er Jahren mit lokalen Bands in Birmingham, beeinflusst von Reggae und Ska-Musik. 1978 gründete er The Beat mit Ranking Roger, Andy Cox und anderen Musikern. Die Band erlangte schnell internationalen Erfolg mit Songs wie "Mirror in the Bathroom", "Save It for Later" und "Can't Get Used to Losing You".
