REO Speedwagon ist eine amerikanische Rockband, die Ende der 1960er Jahre in Champaign, Illinois, gegründet wurde. Der Name stammt von einer alten amerikanischen Kutsche, die Waren und Passagiere transportierte. Die ursprüngliche Besetzung bestand aus Kevin Cronin (Gesang), Neal Doughty (Keyboard), Gary Richrath (Gitarre), Bruce Hall (Bass) und Alan Gratzer (Schlagzeug). In den 1970er Jahren durchlief die Band verschiedene Stilphasen, vom Hard Rock bis zum Progressive Rock. Der Durchbruch gelang in den 1980er Jahren mit Alben wie "Hi Infidelity" (1980) und "Can't Fight This Feeling" (1984), die Hits wie "Keep on Loving You", "Take It On the Run" und das gleichnamige Album-Titelstück produzierten.
