Roland Orzabal (geboren als Roland Jaime Orzabal de la Quintana) ist ein britischer Sänger, Songwriter und Gitarrist, der vor allem als Hauptkomponist und Interpret der Songs der Band Tears for Fears bekannt ist. Diese gründete er 1981 zusammen mit dem Bassisten und Sänger Curt Smith. Geboren in Basildon, Essex, begann Orzabal seine musikalische Karriere in den 1970er Jahren mit verschiedenen lokalen Bands, bevor er Tears for Fears gründete. Die Band erreichte in den 1980er Jahren internationalen Erfolg mit Alben wie *The Hurting* (1983) und *Songs from the Big Chair* (1985), die weltweite Hits wie «Shout», «Everybody Wants to Rule the World» und «Mad World» produzierten.
