Il The Alan Parsons Project è un gruppo musicale britannico formatosi a Londra nel 1974 da Alan Parsons, ingegnere del suono di fama internazionale, e Eric Woolfson, compositore e manager. L'idea era quella di creare un progetto musicale innovativo che combinasse elementi progressivi, rock e musica classica, con l'orchestra come elemento centrale. La formazione vedeva la partecipazione di musicisti di sessione e cantanti ospiti, tra cui Lenny Zakatek, David Paton, Chris Rainbow e Colin Blunstone. Woolfson si occupava principalmente della composizione dei brani vocali, mentre Parsons si dedicava alla produzione e a composizioni strumentali. Tra i loro album più noti figurano "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" (1976), ispirato alle opere di Edgar Allan Poe, "Pyramid" (1975) e "Eye in the Sky" (1977). Il gruppo ha raggiunto il successo internazionale negli anni '70 e '80 con brani come "Sirius", "I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You" e "Time Away".
