Manfred Mann ist ein deutsch-britischer Musiker und Komponist, bekannt als Kopf der gleichnamigen Rockband, die in den 1960er und 1970er Jahren aktiv war. Geboren wurde er 1940 in Lublin, Polen, und zog mit seiner Familie während des Zweiten Weltkriegs nach England. Mit sechs Jahren begann er Klavier zu spielen und studierte am Royal College of Music in London klassische Musik. 1962 gründete er die Manfred Mann, eine Rockband, die in den 1960er Jahren durch Hits wie "Do Wah Diddy Diddy", "Pretty Flamingo" und "Sha La La" großen Erfolg feierte.
