American Hi-Fi è un gruppo rock statunitense originario di Los Angeles, California, ma formatosi inizialmente a Boston, Massachusetts. Prima della formazione del gruppo, Stacy Jones era noto per essere il batterista dei gruppi alternative rock Veruca Salt e Letters to Cleo. Il loro sound si caratterizza per una fusione di influenze pop-rock e punk, con testi spesso introspettivi e melodie orecchiabili.
