Montrose è stata una band hard rock/heavy metal californiana attiva tra la fine degli anni '70 e l'inizio degli anni '80. Il gruppo era composto da Ronnie Montrose (chitarra), Sammy Hagar (voce) - futuro frontman dei Van Halen -, Bill Church (basso) e Denny Carmassi (batteria). Il loro sound, influenzato dal hard rock classico e dal progressive rock, li ha portati a registrare due album di successo: l'omonimo "Montrose" del 1973 e "Paper Money" del 1974. Tra i brani più noti si ricordano "Rock Candy", "Bad Motor Scooter" e "Make It Last".
