The Waifs sono un gruppo folk rock australiano formatosi nel 1992 a Brisbane da Josh Cunningham, Vikki Thorn e Donna Simpson, tre musicisti che si erano conosciuti durante gli anni dell'università. Il loro sound è caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, testi poetici e una forte componente acustica. Oltre alle sorelle Thorn e Cunningham, il gruppo comprende anche Ben Franz al basso e David Ross Macdonald alla batteria.
