Damageplan è stata una heavy metal band americana proveniente da Dallas, Texas, formatasi nel 2003. Il gruppo nacque dall'idea dei fratelli Dimebag Darrell e Vinnie Paul Abbott di avviare un nuovo progetto musicale dopo lo scioglimento del loro precedente gruppo, Pantera. I due reclutarono Pat Lachman, ex chitarrista di Halford, come cantante, e in seguito Bob Zilla al basso. Il debutto discografico della band, *New Found Power*, è uscito negli Stati Uniti il 10 febbraio 2004, raggiungendo la posizione numero 38 nella Billboard 200 con vendite di 44.676 copie nella prima settimana. La carriera del gruppo si interruppe tragicamente nel dicembre dello stesso anno a causa dell'omicidio di Dimebag Darrell durante un concerto.
