The Alan Parsons Project ist eine britische Musikgruppe, die 1974 in London von Alan Parsons, einem international renommierten Toningenieur, und Eric Woolfson, einem Komponisten und Manager, gegründet wurde. Die Idee war es, ein innovatives Musikprojekt zu schaffen, das progressive, Rock- und klassische Elemente mit dem Orchester als zentralem Element kombinierte. Die Besetzung umfasste Studiomusiker und Gastsänger wie Lenny Zakatek, David Paton, Chris Rainbow und Colin Blunstone. Woolfson kümmerte sich hauptsächlich um die Komposition der Gesangstracks, während Parsons sich auf die Produktion und instrumentale Kompositionen konzentrierte. Zu ihren bekanntesten Alben gehören *Tales of Mystery and Imagination* (1976), inspiriert von den Werken von Edgar Allan Poe, *Pyramid* (1975) und *Eye in the Sky* (1977).
