Stevie Ray Vaughan (1954-1990) è stato un chitarrista blues texano considerato uno dei più grandi talenti del genere nel XX secolo. Nato a Dallas, Texas, dimostrò fin da giovane una straordinaria abilità musicale, influenzato da artisti come Albert King e Jimi Hendrix. Nel 1983 formò la band Double Trouble con il bassista Tommy Shannon e il batterista Chris Layton. Il loro album di debutto "Texas Flood" (1983) ottenne un immediato successo critico e commerciale, consacrando Vaughan come una nuova stella del blues moderno. Il suo stile chitarristico era caratterizzato da un'incredibile velocità, precisione e potenza, combinata a un tocco emotivo e bluesy. Tra i suoi brani più famosi figurano "Pride and Joy", "Crossfire" e "The Sky Is Crying". Vaughan vinse numerosi premi Grammy e fu nominato membro della Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nel 1992.
