Azure Ray è un duo dream pop americano formato dalle musiciste Maria Taylor e Orenda Fink. Le due si sono conosciute all'età di 15 anni alla Alabama School of Fine Arts. Nel tardo anni '90 hanno fatto parte del gruppo Little Red Rocket, spesso paragonato a Veruca Salt, esibendosi nella loro città natale di Birmingham, Alabama. Con questo gruppo hanno pubblicato due album per l'etichetta Tim/Kerr. Nel 2000 hanno debuttato con l'album omonimo *Azure Ray*, seguito da altri successi come *Hold On* (2003) e *The Bird and the Worm* (2005).
