Deceased ist eine US-amerikanische Death/Thrash-Metal-Band aus Virginia. Gegründet 1984 vom Schlagzeuger und Sänger King Fowley, war die Band der erste Künstler, der bei Relapse Records unterschrieb. Während ihrer langen Karriere haben sie vier Studioalben über Relapse veröffentlicht, sowie zahlreiche EPs, Demos und Neuveröffentlichungen früherer Demos. 2003 verließ Deceased Relapse, um bei Thrash Corner zu unterschreiben, und setzt die Veröffentlichung von Material bis heute fort. Obwohl sich der Stil der Band im Laufe der Jahre verändert hat und sich in eine Mischung aus Thrash und Heavy Metal mit härteren Vocals entwickelt hat, im Vergleich zum rauen Death-Metal-Sound ihrer frühen Werke, bleibt das Herz des Sounds von Deceased auf Fowleys kraftvollem Schlagzeugspiel und den Horrortexten konzentriert, die vom Sänger geschrien, manchmal erzählt werden. Die Songs wechseln oft in Tempo und Takt, während die Gitarren schnell von einem Riff zum nächsten springen.
