Unkle ist ein britisches Musikprojekt, das 1994 von den Schulfreunden James Lavelle und Tim Goldsworthy gegründet wurde. Ursprünglich der Kategorie Trip-Hop zugeordnet, gehörte der Produzent DJ Shadow einst zum Ensemble und es wurden eine Vielzahl von Gastmusikern und Produzenten eingesetzt. Unkle ist bekannt für seine experimentelle elektronische Musik, die Elemente aus Hip-Hop, Jazz, Soul und Ambient verbindet. Ihr charakteristischer Sound zeichnet sich durch düstere und nachdenkliche Atmosphären, synkopierte Rhythmen und kreative Samples aus.
