Biografia

Die Black Eyed Peas (BEP) sind eine US-amerikanische Hip-Hop-Gruppe, die 1995 in Los Angeles, Kalifornien, gegründet wurde. Die ursprüngliche Besetzung bestand aus apl.de.ap, will.i.am und taboo sowie der Sängerin Kim Hill. Ihr Debütalbum *Behind the Front* (1998) erhielt positive Kritiken, erreichte aber keinen großen kommerziellen Erfolg. 2000 erschien ihr zweites Album *Bridging The Gap* mit Gastauftritten von Künstlern wie Chali 2na von Jurassic 5, De La Soul und Macy Gray. Im Jahr 2003 wurde Kim Hill durch Fergie ersetzt und das Album *Elephunk* markierte einen Wendepunkt für die Band. Singles wie *Where Is the Love?*, *Shut Up*, *Hey Mama* und *Let's Get It Started* wurden internationale Hits und machten die Black Eyed Peas zu einem der beliebtesten Musikgruppen der Welt. 2005 erschien *Monkey Business*, ihr zweites Album mit Fergie, das ihren Erfolg weiter festigte. Weitere bemerkenswerte Alben sind *The E.N.D.* (2009) und *The Beginning* (2010). Die Black Eyed Peas haben zahlreiche Grammy Awards gewonnen und gelten als eine der einflussreichsten Hip-Hop-Gruppen der letzten Jahrzehnte.
