HammerFall ist eine schwedische Heavy-Metal-Band aus Göteborg. Die Band wurde 1993 vom Gitarristen Oscar Dronjak gegründet, der zuvor bei Ceremonial Oath spielte. HammerFall erlangte schnell Popularität durch ihren epischen und melodischen Sound, der von den Klassikern des Power Metal der 80er Jahre wie Iron Maiden und Judas Priest inspiriert ist. Die Band gilt als einer der wichtigsten Vertreter des europäischen Melodic Death Metals und hat einen bedeutenden Einfluss auf die globale Heavy-Metal-Szene. Zu den bekanntesten Songs gehören "Glory to the Brave", "Hearts on Fire" und "Renegade". Zu ihren erfolgreichsten Alben zählen "Legacy of Kings" (1997) und "Claw" (2000).
