The Cross war eine britische Rockband, die von 1987 bis 1993 aktiv war. Die Band wurde vom Queen-Schlagzeuger Roger Taylor gegründet und entstand als paralleles Projekt zu Queen, um experimentellere und weniger kommerzielle Sounds zu erkunden. Der Sound der Gruppe zeichnete sich durch eine Mischung aus Hard Rock, Progressive Rock und psychedelischen Einflüssen aus, mit oft nachdenklichen und poetischen Texten. Zu den Gründungsmitgliedern gehörten der Gitarrist Pete Newdeck, der Bassist Phil Chen und der Sänger/Gitarrist Jason Bonham (Sohn des legendären Led Zeppelin-Schlagzeugers John Bonham). The Cross veröffentlichte zwei Studioalben: "The Cross" (1988) und "Mad, Bad and Beautiful" (1990), die beide von Kritikern gut aufgenommen wurden. Die Band löste sich 1993 aufgrund kreativer und persönlicher Differenzen auf. Zu den repräsentativen Stücken gehören "Power to Believe", "I'm Not Your Man" und "The Way You Make Me Feel".
