Motörhead war eine britische Hard-Rock- und Heavy-Metal-Band, die 1975 in London von Lemmy Kilmister (Gesang, Bass), Steve Turner (Gitarre) und Lucas Fox (Schlagzeug) gegründet wurde. Der Bandname stammt aus dem Hawkwind-Song "Motorhead", in dem Lemmy vor der Gründung seiner eigenen Band das Bass spielte. Als Pioniere des Speed Metal beeinflussten Motörhead Generationen von Musikern mit ihrem kraftvollen und aggressiven Sound, der sich durch schnelle Riffs, provokante Texte und Lemmys ikonischen Growl auszeichnet. Zu ihren bekanntesten Songs gehören "Ace of Spades", "Overkill" und "Bomber". Die Band veröffentlichte über 20 Studioalben, darunter "Overkill" (1980), "Iron Fist" (1982) und "Bastards" (1993). Lemmy Kilmister starb 2015 an einem Herzinfarkt. Motörhead löste sich nach seinem Tod auf.
