Quasimoto ist das Pseudonym des Hip-Hop-Produzenten Madlib aus Oxnard, Kalifornien. Das Musikprojekt zeichnet sich durch die hohe Stimme von Quasimoto aus, die einem Helium-Einatmen ähnelt. Ein weiteres Merkmal ist der ständige Wechsel zwischen den Stimmen von Quasimoto und Madlib. Während einer Studio-Session beschloss Madlib, über seine eigenen Beats zu rappen, fand aber seinen Gesang nicht gut (seine Freunde in Oxnard nennen ihn 'Barry White' wegen seiner tiefen Stimme). Er entschied sich daher, den Recorder zu verlangsamen, langsam zu rappen und dann die Aufnahme wieder aufzuspielen, um Quasimottos charakteristische hohe Stimme zu erzeugen. Das Projekt wurde mit dem Album "The Unseen" aus dem Jahr 2000 veröffentlicht, gefolgt von anderen Werken wie "A Wise Guy" (2001) und "The Further Adventures of Lord Quas" (2007). Zu den bekanntesten Songs gehören "Rappcats", "The World Is Yours" und "Walkin' On The Moon".
