Carnivore fu una band americana di crossover thrash formata a Brooklyn, New York, nel 1982 da Peter Steele (in seguito famoso per Type O Negative). La band nacque dalle ceneri del gruppo hard rock locale Fallout. Carnivore si distinse per un sound aggressivo e brutale, mescolando elementi di thrash metal, hardcore punk e heavy metal con testi spesso provocatori e dark. Peter Steele era il frontman carismatico della band, noto per le sue performance teatrali e la sua voce profonda e potente. Tra i brani più rappresentativi di Carnivore ricordiamo "Carnivore", "The Beast" e "Satan's Disciples". La band pubblicò un solo album in studio, l'omonimo "Carnivore", nel 1986.
