We Are Scientists sono un gruppo rock formatosi a Berkeley, California nel 2000. Il nucleo originario era composto da Keith Murray alla batteria, Chris Cain al basso e Scott Lamb ai vocal e chitarra. Successivamente Michael Tapper si è unito come batterista, mentre Keith ha assunto il ruolo di vocalist e chitarrista. Il loro successo è arrivato con il secondo album *With Love and Squalor*, che ha venduto 100.000 copie nei primi sei mesi. Un altro successo significativo è stato *Brain Thrust Mastery*, che ha raggiunto la posizione numero 11 nella classifica britannica, con i singoli di successo «After Hours» e «Chick Lit».
