Lordi ist eine finnische Heavy-Metal-Band, die 1996 in Rovaniemi gegründet wurde. Bekannt für die Horror-Thematisierung, die das Erscheinungsbild der Band und die Texte ihrer Songs prägt, leitet sich der Name vom Spitznamen des Sängers Tomi Putaansuu ab, der als Mr. Lordi bekannt ist. Jedes Mitglied trägt eine Monstermaske und einen Spitznamen, wodurch es unmöglich ist, sie ohne Kostüme zu sehen. Musikalisch orientieren sich Lordi am Heavy Metal der 1980er Jahre von Künstlern wie Alice Cooper, W.A.S.P. und Twisted Sister, mit Einflüssen aus dem Glam Rock.
