VHS or Beta è un gruppo musicale originario di Louisville, Kentucky, che fonde elementi di rock, house francese e dance-punk. Il loro album di debutto autoprodotto *Le Funk* ha riscosso un certo successo nelle classifiche, ma la band è diventata più nota dopo l'uscita del 2004 *Night on Fire*. All'inizio del 2007, dopo due anni e mezzo di tour, il gruppo si è trasferito ad Asheville, nella Carolina del Nord, per registrare *Bring on the Comets* del 2007. Pubblicato nell'agosto 2007, *Bring On The Comets* ha segnato una leggera svolta verso un suono pop più diretto; tutto questo senza sacrificare la sensibilità dance caratteristica della band.
