In einem schwierigen Viertel aufgewachsen, entdeckte er schon früh seine Leidenschaft für die Musik. 1992 trat er mit dem Song "Merry Muthafuckin' Xmas" auf Eazy-E's EP "5150: Home 4 tha Sick" in die Rap-Szene ein. 1996 gründete er die Black Eyed Peas, eine Musikgruppe, die weltweite Erfolge mit Hits wie "Where Is the Love?", "Let's Get It Started" und "I Gotta Feeling" feierte.
