Statik Selektah, eigentlich Patrick Baril, ist ein US-amerikanischer DJ, Musikproduzent und Radiomoderator, der 1980 in New York City geboren wurde. Als einer der wichtigsten Vertreter der amerikanischen Underground-Hip-Hop-Szene zeichnet sich Statik Selektah durch seinen Produktionsstil aus, der Vintage-Samples und Old-School-Beats mit Jazz- und Funk-Einflüssen kombiniert. Seine musikalische Karriere begann in den 1990er Jahren als DJ in New Yorker Clubs, wo er mit aufstrebenden Hip-Hop-Künstlern zusammenarbeitete. 2003 veröffentlichte er sein Debütalbum "The Green Tape", das ihm einen Ruf als talentierter und kreativer Produzent einbrachte. Seitdem hat Statik Selektah mit einigen der größten Namen des Hip-Hops zusammengearbeitet, darunter Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, Sean Price und Freddie Gibbs.
