Prince Rogers Nelson, besser bekannt als Prince, war eine amerikanische Musikikone von außergewöhnlichem Talent und Vielseitigkeit. Geboren 1958 in Minneapolis, begann Prince im Alter von sieben Jahren seine musikalische Karriere und zeigte schon früh eine natürliche Begabung für die Musik. In den 1980er-Jahren erreichte er internationalen Erfolg mit Alben wie „Purple Rain“ (1984), das über 13 Millionen Exemplare verkaufte und einen gleichnamigen Film hervorbrachte, der zum Kult wurde. Prince war bekannt für seine unglaubliche musikalische Fähigkeit, verschiedene Instrumente wie Gitarre, Bass, Keyboard und Schlagzeug zu spielen. Seine Musik umfasste Genres wie Funk, Rock, Pop, R and B und Soul und beeinflusste die zeitgenössische Musikszene tiefgreifend. Prince war ein visionärer Künstler, der immer auf der Suche nach neuen Klängen und Ausdrucksformen war.
