Impious ist eine schwedische Thrash/Death-Metal-Band, die seit 1987 aktiv ist. Sie gelten als einer der Eckpfeiler des skandinavischen Death-Metals und haben dazu beigetragen, den brutalen und schnellen Sound zu definieren, der die europäische Metal-Szene der 90er Jahre prägte. Ihr Musikstil zeichnet sich durch intensive rhythmische Aggressivität, verzerrte Gitar riffs und kehlige Growls aus.
