Missing Persons ist eine amerikanische Band aus den Genres New Wave und Synth-Rock, die von 1980 bis 1986 aktiv war. Gegründet wurden sie vom Gitarristen Warren Cuccurullo, der Sängerin Dale Bozzio und dem Schlagzeuger Terry Bozzio (ehemals Teil von Frank Zappas Band). Später stießen Bassist Patrick O'Hearn und Keyboarder Chuck Wild zum Ensemble hinzu. Dales etéreo Gesang und ihr oft science-fiction-inspiriertes Bühnenbild trugen dazu bei, dass Missing Persons Anfang der 1980er Jahre ein Medienphänomen wurden. Ihr Sound, geprägt von melodischem Synth-Pop und eingängigen Gitar riffs, etablierte sie als eine der innovativsten Bands dieser Zeit. Zu ihren bekanntesten Songs gehören "Walking in Memphis", "Words" und "Destination Unknown". Ihr gleichnamiges Debütalbum (1982) erreichte kommerziellen Erfolg und festigte die Popularität der Band. Nach einem zweiten Album, "The Missing Persons" (1984), löste sich die Band 1986 auf.
