Giusy Ferreri è una cantautrice italiana nata a Palermo nel 1984 e cresciuta ad Abbiategrasso. Sin da bambina si dedica alla musica, componendo i suoi primi brani durante l'adolescenza. Nel 1993 inizia la sua carriera musicale collaborando con diversi gruppi musicali. Nel 2002 firma un brano chillout intitolato "Won't U be" insieme agli AllState51 per la raccolta "Chillout Masterpiece". Nel 2005, sotto il nome d'arte Gaetana, pubblica il singolo "Il party", che include anche il brano "Linguaggio immaginario". Il singolo viene proposto per le selezioni di Sanremo Nuove Proposte 2005, ma non viene selezionato. Nel 2006 partecipa al Festival di Sanremo con la canzone "La mia storia" e ottiene un grande successo. Il suo album di debutto, "Giusy Ferreri", uscito nello stesso anno, raggiunge il disco d'oro in Italia. Tra i suoi brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "La mia storia", "L'amore è una cosa strana", "Ti voglio bene" e "Io non mi arrendo".
