Ian Dury und die Blockheads sind eine britische Musikgruppe, die in den 1970er und 1980er Jahren aktiv war. Gegründet von Ian Dury, Sänger, Musiker und Dichter, ist die Band für ihre Ska-Punk-Musik mit Einflüssen aus Rockabilly und Cabaret bekannt. Dury, geboren 1942 in Harrow, hatte eine Kindheit, die durch Polio geprägt war, was zu einer dauerhaften Lähmung seiner rechten Beinseite führte. Dieses Ereignis beeinflusste seinen künstlerischen Weg tiefgreifend und förderte seine Ironie und seine Fähigkeit, Geschichten aus der Perspektive von Andersartigen zu erzählen. Die Blockheads, mit Chaz Jankel am Klavier und Mickey Gallagher an den Orgeln, begleiteten Dury auf einer musikalischen Reise, die soziale, politische und persönliche Themen mit schwarzem Humor und großer Live-Energie behandelte.
