Just another waitress
In another downtown place
Simply put her face renewed my
Faith in dreams
All me best fantasies
Come back in slow reprise
Right there inside her eyes I found some
Peace of mind
And would you care if I told you your name
Reminded me of someone else who looked like you
But that was long ago
And even before I knew your name
You made that feeling come to me
I'm happy and I'm free to love again
As a beggar cried two blocks away a man died
We falafelized on the lower east side
Me and my friend discussed the end
How it might come at any time
And in the least likely of places
To find the kindest of faces
It was such a surprise
A leasant present memory
And would you care if I told you your name
Reminded me of someone else who looked like you
But that was long ago
And even before I knew your name
You made that feeling come to me
I'm happy and I'm free to love again
The missing message on the brick wall
Reminded me of all the holes I had to fill
So I wrote a note to say
Come and see our show
And I went back to the waitress station
To hand you this humble invitation
I asked your and you told me
And a question came
And would you care if I told you your name
Reminded me of someone else who looked like you
But that was long ago
And even before I knew your name
You made that feeling come to me
I'm happy and I'm free to love again
