Dashboard Confessional ist eine amerikanische Musikgruppe, die 1998 in Gainesville, Florida, gegründet wurde. Das Projekt entstand als Nebenprojekt von Chris Carrabba, der bereits Sänger der Band Further Seems Forever war. Das erste Album, *Swiss Army Romance* (2000), war hauptsächlich ein Solo-Projekt, aber mit dem Erfolg des Albums gründete Carrabba eine vollständige Band für das folgende Album, *The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most* (2001). Die Gruppe erlangte internationale Bekanntheit mit dem MTV Unplugged-Album von 2002, das platiniert wurde.
