Commander Venus è stata una band emo americana proveniente da Omaha, Nebraska. Il gruppo era composto da Conor Oberst e Tim Kasher alla voce, Todd Fink e Matt Bowen dei The Faint, Ben Armstrong di Head of Femur e Robb Nansel, produttore esecutivo dell'etichetta indipendente Saddle Creek. Kasher ha successivamente guidato la band Cursive, mentre Oberst è diventato famoso come membro principale del collettivo folk indie Bright Eyes e in seguito della punk band Desaparecidos.
