Victor Lemonte Wooten ist ein amerikanischer Bassist, geboren 1964 in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Als einer der angesehensten Bassisten aller Zeiten erlangte Wooten internationale Bekanntheit für seine virtuose Technik, seinen innovativen Stil und seine tiefe musikalische Sensibilität. Mit sieben Jahren begann er, Bass zu spielen, beeinflusst von seinem Vater, einem Gospelmusiker. In seiner Karriere arbeitete er mit Künstlern wie Béla Fleck, Les Claypool und Steve Vai zusammen und gründete die Jazz-Fusion-Gruppe V.U. (Victor Wooten Universe). Wooten ist bekannt für seine Fähigkeit, Elemente aus Funk, Jazz, Rock und klassischer Musik in seinem einzigartigen Stil zu kombinieren.
