Steve Winwood (geboren als Stephen Lawrence Winwood am 12. Mai 1948) ist ein legendärer britischer Musiker, der für seine vielseitige Karriere bekannt ist, die vom Rock über Blues bis hin zu Soul und Jazz reicht. Er begann bereits in jungen Jahren mit Musik, trat im Alter von 16 Jahren der Gruppe The Spencer Davis Group bei. Mit ihnen feierte er in den 1960er Jahren große Erfolge mit Hits wie "Gimme Some Lovin'". Nach der Auflösung der Band schloss sich Winwood Traffic an, einer psychedelischen Band, die ihn sah, Kompositionen zu schreiben und Hits wie "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" und "Feelin' Alright" zu interpretieren. 1969 gründete er Blind Faith mit Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker und Steve Stills, einem Supergroup, das ein gleichnamiges Album aufnahm, bevor es sich auflöste. In den 1970er Jahren startete Winwood eine erfolgreiche Solokarriere und veröffentlichte Alben wie "Arc of a Diver" (1982) mit dem Hit "Higher Love" sowie "Back in the High Life" (1986), die ihn zu einem der größten Künstler seiner Zeit machten.
