The German new wave/synth pop band, Alphaville -- Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd and Frank Mertens -- were most popular in the mid 80s. Best known for their two biggest hits, "Big in Japan" and "Forever Young", Alphaville have been together since 1983 and have released 20 albums in total. They saw a resurgence of popularity in 2006 when their "Forever Young" single was covered by the Australian band Youth Group for US television show The O.C.. Currently the band are touring and working on a new album, to be released sometime in 2007 through music label WEA.
