Silly Wizard sono stati una folk band scozzese formatisi ad Edimburgo nel luglio del 1972. I membri fondatori erano due studenti con idee simili: Gordon Jones (chitarra, bodhran, voce, bouzouki, mandola) e Bob Thomas (chitarra, mandolino, mandola, banjo, concertina), insieme a Chris Pritchard (voce). A settembre del 1972 si unì al gruppo il giovanissimo Johnny Cunningham (violino, viola, mandola, voce), ancora studente. Nel settembre del 1972 la band prese in gestione e suonò al Triangle Folk Club fino a marzo del 1974. A febbraio del 1973 Chris Pritchard lasciò il gruppo e fu sostituito da Madelaine Taylor (chitarra, bodhran, voce). A ottobre del 1973 la band firmò con Transatlantic Records XTRA label. L'album venne registrato ma prima della sua uscita, Madelaine Taylor lasciò il gruppo a dicembre del 1973. I master tape vennero successivamente persi e l'album non è mai stato pubblicato. Nonostante le difficoltà iniziali, Silly Wizard hanno continuato a esibirsi e a registrare musica fino alla fine degli anni '80.
